ok so currently I own a red 1997 3000gt base. it has some aftermarket 16x7 wheels and tires (ICW no names). well, the dealer gave me some banged up OEM wheels to go witht he car.
seeing that the OEM wheels where 8.5" wide i figured why not utilize their sturdy design, decent width, and relativly low weight.
after following directions shown here:
http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/tund...wheel-painting/
these are the results.
sanded, used a steel brush bit on the inside because of horrible corrosion.
different wheel(the one thats in the worst shape i painted 1st)
used:
Duplicolor charcoal/graphite wheel paint
Duplicolor red caliper paint
patience
they still need some touching up. I'm hoping to find some used slicks locally to put on these, if not I'm purchasing these bad boys:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1-NEW-245%2...091110009r21392
after the tires are on, im purchasing front and rear strut braces, floor bar, and harness bar for added stability.
Ill have a thread showing the car when i think it looks appropriate.
comments, thoughts, cents.....?

three light coats of graphite, then one more to touch up small areas.(40 min~)
two heavy coats of caliper paint with a tiny brush(hourish for a clean job)
haven't done a clear coat yet.
the inside of every wheel had corrosion build up, so i had to wire brush(drill bit) the entire inside of the wheel. then wet sand it. Thats step wasnt entirly necessary but really helps pull it off as a nice touch.

WOW just wow dude your a pro certified painter lols. because I have my stock 15" fx rims and I wanted to paint them, I have already removed all the balancers and sanded all 4 rims. what should be my next step clean all 4 rims with a rag to remove any kind of dust particle?
