Well I know I said I was up for it, but it depended on work. :\ The thing is, he scheduled it so soon and I would need a week or two more worth of notice to actually be able to go. But like I said, if anything, I'll help arrange another meet for the Spring with a great show-out.

we're done... might be done forever... I had TWO people show up besides myself... what happened to the other 15 people who said this sunday was good for them?

Honestly, I am disgusted. Not a single LOCAL person showed up. My two guests came from Allentown and Long Island. None of the several people from North Jersey even bothered. It may be a LONG time before I consider doing this again.. even if we had a moderatly decent time sitting around, eating, and BSing.. I enjoyed that part at least.

To say I disappointed is a big understatement.

Sorry to hear that Mad Machine. 02.gif I had a similar experience with a meet I set up here awhile ago. Only one person showed up besides me and about 10 said they were coming. I decided to try again and once again only one showed up. I haven't done it since.

I don't know, but I think making the date only 2 weeks after the announcement was a bit short. Mad, maybe if you gave a month or two month's notice like what I hear for other meets, there might have been a better turn-out? I'm sorry about it though. 02.gif I actually had to work from 11pm Saturday night to 12:30pm Sunday afternoon... then I had to be back at 10pm Sunday night. :\ My store was short-handed for the morning so they had me stay.

Listen, I'll talk to you within the next few months to figure out a successful meet. Maybe that will brighten your spirits. At least it was a beautiful day out yesterday and you got to just relax and hang out with some friends.

actually.. anybody who had been following the thread... I had been discussing this for way over a month. 15 people said the first weekend of October would be good with them... and then nothing.

I just guess I am spoiled by my friends in the Italian cars. you even mention meet on a forum and you will have fifty guys with their cars at the location. Some of them driving several states in tiny cars with less than a litre's displacement.

you're right. other threads had a lot of interest. i showed interest as well, then i booked my flight to ABQ... we all know what happened after that.

so, i start focusing on this meet again and find out that virtually everyone who said they wanted to go jumped off the face of the earth. do you blame me for not driving 4½ hours for 3 vehicles?

there's always spring time

Sorry I couldn't make it I really tried. Here is what happened to me.

Well I had everyone mad at me on Sunday. I went to church @ 630a so that I would be ready for the meet. The family thought I was going to cookout in the backyard (hotdogs, hamburgers, soda, chips) I was ready.

I was driving my big car cause the Tib is still in the shop. The wife must have went to church and prayed for something to happen. I dropped them off at church and went to pick up the rolls. Got back and picked them up. 1115a dropped them off @ home, "I'll see you guys later", I said.

Stopped to get gas, got on the highway. Sniff, sniff "what the hell is that burning smell???". My stearing column was smoking......

I didn't want to take the chance and get stuck somewhere, again (last meet). I turned around and went home. It sucked I just sat there all afternoon doing nothing mad.gif . We'll make it better next time, bro. wink1.gif
