So I got my used manifold today and at first when I checked over it everything looked fine. I was actually impressed because a lot of the welds have been re-enforced! But then I was looking at the ends of the runners and the flange and I noticed something weird... I dont think its a big deal, but I thought Id have you guys look at it too.

It has the same "texture" as a weld, but its on the edges of all the openings... I dont know if this manifold comes like that or if its something the previous owner did. Should I port them so that they are smoother? Take a look and give me your thoughts:

everything looks fine in this one...

It's not very tidy. I'd get it all ground down smooth.

Smooth it down. You want the flatest and smoothest surface that you can get. The pre owner probably reinforced the openings, maybe they were chipped etc from when it was fabricated.

Looks like someone was just trying to make the opening bigger and didn't do a good job. I'd get a die grinder and smooth it out a little bit.

Im prob going to smooth the runners, but I dont know about the flange. I dont want to end up opening that up too far... or wont that matter?

the tubes are simply welded for mthe outside of the flange (what you actually see when the manifold is installed) and the inside of the flange (what you find odd)
it's not that bad... i would simply smooth it out a bit nothing mjor or you could thin out the metal/weld too much
one thing to check.. if the port are at least the same size then your head and if your turbo opening is at least the same size then your manifold outlet
