Default Wastegate Question for Cheuk

Hi!. I run a `95 Scoupe Turbo:since fitting a cone filter + CAI.,when I accelerate & am under boost (however slight), instead of the expected healthy induction roar, I hear a metallic rattling sound, but nothing is loose & the performance seems fine.
Is it possible that the sound is the wastegate releasing pressure pre-maturely, due to a weak spring?
Is there any physical way of adjusting the `gate- (Bosch unit on Garrett T15 Turbo)or is adjustment only done by programming the ECU.?.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated!.
Regards, Nick Dean.

Sounds to me like a bad catl. converter, when they go bad they seem to break apart and rattle.

metallic rattling can be confused with pinging.

The sound seems to come from the area of the cone filter/MAF......definitely not the exhaust and, to be honest, unless it is being transmitted up the induction pipe, the waste gate seems unlikely!
Surely induction roar should not sound so `tinny`?......ddrrrrrrrrrrr!
Everything about the car is fine apart from this sound....nothing is loose.

Have you checked the compressor side of the Turbo to see if there is any shaft play? It sounds like the blades of the compreesor side are rubbing the housing.
