If you put a supercharger on a stock 2k tiburon, do you have to switch the maf to a map? If so why?
Also If anyone knows how to do this let me know.
Thanks

1. You can use a MAFS on a s/c thou its gonna be a *****.
2. You can just pull out the MAFS and plug in a MAP. You would need a new ecu as well.
No offense, but if you dont know that. I high doubt you have the knowledge to put a s/c together. I would sit back, and not be in a hurry and read up on how forced induction works.
Edit- dont forget you need some boost fluid tongue.gif wahahahh j/k

the map sensor doesn't just swap out with the maf sensor. THere is some work involved, and I was wondering if anyone had any instructions for it. Are you positive that you need a new ecu?

A supercharger SHOULD work at low boost with the stock MAF. At high boost levels (7psi or higher) the Supercharger could actually pull more air than the stock ECU is capable of reading through the stock MAF. The limit is 21.9 #/Ft of air per minute. Any air flow over that will trigger a CEL and cause the ecu to go into "limp" mode as it will no longer trust/listen to the MAF readings.
Changing over to MAP, is a serious PITA. You need to install a map into the intake manifold, and then switch out the ecu to a MAP based ECU.
