Azzy, where did you get the downpipe made and how much? Or are you referring to the HP.com/UFB parts?

My ICQ# is 152886433, but my free DSL connection expires in 10 days, so I won't be logged on as often. acurtas@yahoo.com is a good way to reach me, when I remember to check it. DOH!

Once I get the intercooler (hopefully this month or early next), I'll get serious about measuring exactly what piping I need. I think we can do this for under $100 in piping and about $50 in connectors and reducers. But I could be wrong.

later,
ac

Hey Curtas... i found a guy who's been doing custom bends for over 13 years. hes willing to do our custom mandrel piping privided that we supply him the pipe we want to use. he is also doing my custom exhaust for me. 2.5 inch mandrel bent. saturday @ 8:00 AM my car is going up on the lift to get the final price. i would *really* like you to be there to discuss the piping, you know much more than i do about it. he said he guarantees he will beat any price out there, and do a better job @ it. i had the chance to watch him while working... he didnt use any cards or anything to make his bends; he measured once, looked twice and bent. the 4 bends i watched him do were all perfect. i really think weve found what weve needed man!

Saturday morning is cool by me. Where's the shop located? Gimme an address and I'll run it through mapquest. As long as you're in the DC to south-of-baltimore area, that's cool. Otherwise, that's a bit of a hike for me.

later bud,
ac

AzzY, that isn't too far. Mapquest says 40 minutes, which is really about 25 or so, especially on a Saturday morning.

Let me know what time to meet you there.

Also, does this guy do downpipes, or just the intake piping? I did some math and I figure I can do the intake piping myself for about $150 + labor, cuts, and cursing. I can probably do the downpipe for around $125. That's 304 Stainless Steel all around, ordered from JC Whitney. And my problem is that I don't know exaclty how the intercooler is going to fit. I'm figuring somewhere around the radiator on the driver's side, but that's yet to be determined.

See you tomorrow,
ac

I could be there at 7:30 or 8:00; let's say 7:45 and I'll follow you to the shop (I assume it's close by).

later,

yup, its really close. ill be in my white gen 1 tib outside of sun and ski sports at 7:45 then. BTW if you already have your intercooler you may want to bring it down so this guy can get an idea of the bends hes going to make, etc...

Hey AzzY, did you make it over to the mechanic/shop? Did they give you any ideas on pricing?
