Turbo Kits For 01 Tibs
Obviously, I'm looking at turbo kits for my 2001 Tiburon. I've looked around here a little bit and couldn't really determine a price range for this kind of upgrade. If I'm looking to get a decent turbo system that can run reliably on stock internals, what kind of prices am I looking for? What is involved with a turbo kit for a tiburon? I'd love to be a little more educated on what I can do with my car. Thanks for the help.
Currently, there are no kits for our RD Tiburons.
Well, there's the Alpine...but please don't waste your money on one of those. To find out why, search.
If you want a kit, wait for FlyRyde, they are working on two, stage I and II, probably will be available next spring? Take that time to learn about how a turbo works, so you don't get owned, and get familiar with shops that would dyno tune it for you. Prices for this are estimated to be $2500-3000, completely bolt on, perfect fit, comes with eManage for tuning. Searching would have figured that out, but you're new so maybe you aren't familiar with FlyRyde.
Otherwise, the obvious answer, you can go custom and piece together your own kit. Figure out what you need, you can get manifolds and such, every piece you need to make your own system, everything you need on the internet. This option is usually cheaper too.
But please do not ask what parts you will need for your own kit, search.

I've also learned from everyone on this board, the Maximum Boost by Corky Bell is a great book to read to learn exactly what you need for your turbo setup. I've read most of it, and it shed alot of light on how to build your own turbo setup, what you need, what to consider, etc. Read it, search, read the articles, and post when you dont quite understand something, after doing all your research.
Good luck with your turbo setup, and the RDT comunity is here to help.

my advice to you is that it sounds like you're a newb, so read the book in the mean time while you're waiting for flyryde's turbo kit.
