I have a 1999 2.0 Tib. I currently have a custom CAI and exhaust. I'm looking to throw a minimum of $2000 at my baby over the course
of the next year or two. This isn't including a paint job and minor additions(gauges, lights, etc.). I am currently looking for a semi-cheap
way to boost my precious. My short-term goal is a low pressure of around 5-8 psi. I'm not too eager to run off and do custom jobs for
a whole turbo kit that would cost over $5000. So I'm looking for semi-cheap alternatives. I've been looking at the Evo 8 Manifold and
turbo builds. Is this a realistic/practical approach? I'm not an expert or even close to it, but I do have some basic theoretical knowledge.
Are these builds something I could do by myself with no previous major automotive experience?
I'm a reasonable person, but I like to do things myself. DIY is preferred, but I don't want to overwhelm myself. I'm expecting to have
to get a custom downpipe and IC pipes, but everything else I would like to install myself.
I'm currently in school for another 2 years. Once I get out and have a semi-stable job I want to get a new car and turn the tib into a showcar.
So this initial boost is only for starters and lovely fun. I will end up having the exhaust redone and dig into the internals, but right now I'm looking for
as basic as basic can be, while still being stable enough for daily driving.
I'm looking at getting the turbo manifold, turbo, BOV, and IC before the middle of fall semester. So I want to have decided which turbo to get.
I'd rather pick out each individual part, but my knowledge isn't as great as it should be. I've been looking at other people's
turbo builds, but I keep seeing difference of opinions. Ebay turbo kits are looking attractive just out of ease and convience for me.
I really don't want to have to rebuild my turbo every year.

i offer kits ranging from 1950$ to 5000, just depends on what you want and what you can afford.

i also now offer kits that use a VERY nice evo 8 manifold and a brand new evo 9 turbo if you want to go that route.
I can provide ANY support you need over hear or over at my forums.
IC kit will be BOLT on if you end up going with one of my kits.. DP will have to be custom.

Other than looking at our For Sale forums and SOCK's turbo's, you really need to spend a week or 2 searching and reading what you find. I'm going to close this thread, please do a BUNCH of reading, as we have thousands of threads on what you need to do.
After you do that, come back in a few days and post a thread with SPECIFIC questions on specific parts, and what you've already found out.
