Default Turbo 4 a 99TibSE

QUESTION!!
Can I put a Turbo on an auto 99 Tib SE??
Without blowing my engine and wrecking the motor??? The mechanic said i can add 6-10 PSI without doing any major engine work smile.gif

Yes, you can. 6-10 PSI should be doable on stock internals with the right tuning.

Victoria,
I'm doing a 6 to 10 psi kit for my tib right now. I plan on keeping the stock internals and compression ratio. Hopefully, I can get my web page up on it. I'm documenting my decision making process, parts lists, reference websites, etc. I'll let everyone here know when it's up. My current site (signature link) is way outdated.

My budget is $2k installed and tuned, but that relies on a lot of patience, ebay deals, and doing most/all of the install myself.

We've got some good resource people here (Red, Random, Cheuk, HRD, and a bunch of others) for turbos, but like long said: search, search, search. smile.gif

Good luck and keep us posted!

well the guy i found is installing a custom turbo....it's not a direct fit/bolt on like the one alpine Dev. offers. installed and tuned is going to cost me 5500. Not too sure on the products he is using or what components he will add/change/take out but when i find out i will post it.

5500 canadian isn't that bad if someone is doing all the tuning and labor for you. There are some tricky install parts, and it takes quite a lot of time (which in the US can be $60 to $100 an hour). Heck, even dyno time for tuning is around $75 and hour.

Still, post the parts list and configuration (intercooler, fuel management, etc), and we'll let you know if you're getting a good deal.

good luck,
ac
