Default stand alone dfi system

well i was gonna go haltek but i found accel DFI 7.0. it's the generation 7

http://www.mrgasket.com/dfiindex2.html

take a look and see what you all think. i can buy it and have it installed for around 2 grand. i know the haltek is a little cheaper but it would be the same price with labor.

Seems spendy for what you get. I'd like to see more product details too. Purdy screenshots of their software does not make a great ECU.

See if they will send you a copy of their manual in PDF format of us to go over.

Go Haltech. Don't even consider other options.

Do you know this Accel unit will work with Motronic 60-2 wheel?

Haltech will work and thats been already proven.
Save yourself a bigger PITA and get something you are absolutely sure will work. HALTECH smile.gif Guess no more.

I too was going to go with a Haltech but there is nobody in my immediate area that I can trust to RELIABLY tune the thing frown

there is a tuner here, lugo performance, they are the one that showed me this deal because they are also a dealer. i will stop by tomorrow and ask them if they have something i can send to you all. the reason i was considering this is because they seem to think that the haltek is outdated and this has better tuning software and is more user friendly.
they were running the E6K on their drag honda and it was'nt giving them enough info so they switched to accel and it gave them a wide variety of things they could do along with record each run so they could fine tune everything right there on the spot.
i totally agree with staying with something that works but there is a little pioneer in me to just to try something new. be a test bunny for everyone if you will.
lugo said they can hook me up for the same price the E6K would be so i really wouldnt loose money.
i will definately check with them tomorrow to see if they can give me more info on it or a sample of somekind so i can send it to you all.

later

The info I'm looking for is the spec's and capabilities.

how many injectors can it run? (4 Sequential?)
What kind of ingition can it run? (Dual coil waste spark?)
How many sensors can it accept?
What kind of crank trigger can it use?
what kind of cam position sensor can it use?

etc..etc..etc..

I'm just stickin' with haltech. I want to run two sets of staged injectors so I can have a smoother idle and still run around a total of 800cc's into my engine.
