Default Rear mount turbo systems

Has anyone ever installed one of these systems on their car? I've been looking into it and it looks like a cool concept. Any opinions on it?

Decent price for the universal kit, but I think you would be much better off going with a regular standard turbo kit.

I was considering one for my Firebird because there isn't really any room for a turbo under the hood. On a car with room, definitely a traditional turbo kit would be better.

Don't really see the point in any hyundai's? Plenty of room in the engine bay for a proper set-up. Your going to have to deal with enormous pressure loss and turbo lag with a remotely mounted turbo so far from the exhaust ports.

Haven't had a good look at the Genesis V6 engine bay, maybe that'd be a potential candidate for something like this?

you make up for the lag and pressure loss by running smaller charge pipe

Good idea! So the intercooler is still up front right? or maybe inline along the way (with side vents for airflow)

Well wouldnt the weight of this setup in the rear help balance out the cars weight? A bonus for me being in cali if i used this is the fact that its not under the hood for that eventual pull over an inspection. Doubt the cop would look under the back of my car for modifications.

Because of the long pipe the charge pipe acts almost like a small intercooler. Of course, I mean a really small one but enough to run more PSI without an intercooler than if it was mounted in the engine compartment.

Rear mount turbos work just fine... Some vids of my roommate's car with close to 1,000 HP, a TH400 and a built 370 motor:
