I did a search to better understand the Wideband O2 Sensor, but i didn't find what i was looking for. If there is a thread here and missed it can someone drop me a pm to the thread. Basically I want to know is what this does in simple terms. Is this just a stand alone O2 sensor, that is more accurate and instant real time reading? what are the benefits of this and are there any drawback to this, what does this do for me tuning wise for a turbo set up? Any help would be SWEET also sorry to the mods if this has been discussed...

very very basic description to it's use.... it allows you to get your air/fuel percentage so you can properly tune your setup...

Two types of o2 sensor readings, narrowband and wideband. Both give the car enough information to do what it has to do to the A/F stock, however narrowband gives a very bouncy signal (jumps all over a gauge) to a gauge, while a wideband gives a steady signal that you can tune by (i.e 12.5:1 A/F).

Wideband kits have an O2 sensor and a box with a digital readout. They allow you to read your AFR's visually/numerically.

I've had my PLX M300 for a few years now. Still runs great.

so can you just get a wideband O2 probe and wire into stock harness and then just get any a/f gauge and use it? can you do that?

No you can't wire the wideband sensor to the stock wiring.

Well if you have a PLX you can remove the stock o2 and use the white wire output to the ecu.

In simple terms... well, it measures the air and fuel ratio.

It is not just a basic o2 sensor but a sensor that can do a 0v to 5v reading (wideband) and it is far more accurate than a narrowband.

QUOTE
what are the benefits of this

these are just some of them...
- you'll be able to see the accurate a/f ratio
- you'll be able to use the a/f date to tune your car and prevent the engine from blowing, produce more power, etc
- it's a good visual mod
- many more

QUOTE
and are there any drawback to this

- nothing really except they can really be expensive

see the benefits above
