Default Re: Strut Bar (Front)

Hey everyone, i know this topic has been covered to some extent but i have a list and just want you guys to tell me what you think and whats missing. I basically want to do anything that i can right now before i buy a turbo kit.(without having to remove/sell stuff) So this is my list....

Exaust (possibly the soon comming Ark or mussa system)
BBTB (kspec)
Airram (Kspec)
1.8l Intake cam (Kspec)
Short Shifter (kspec)
NKG Spark Plugs
NGK Ignition Wires
Struts (KYB Gr-2)

I did consider getting the Eibach Prokit springs but will eventually be purchasing a veilside bodykit and have been informed/warned that thoes two are not a good combo.
I also thought about Headers and was going to get in on that group buy thats going on but dont know if its worth spending 500-600 on a part that will eventually be removed.
Any advice would be great... thanks

Default HELP: Why do I get the ticking noise?

I wouldn't buy the non turbo headers....but now is a great opportunity to pick up a set of turbo ones w/ that GB. They're cheaper in the GB by like 100 dollars....sure you wouldn't be able to use em for awhile, but if you are sure you are gonna do it, why's it matter?

What does struts, short shifter, and strut bars have to do with your turbo?

all of those performance mods are good for turbo, but for the plugs I'd recommend getting regular v-power NGKs and change them every 5k mi.

you need a good suspension to put the power down..

anyways.. what you left off the light you will REALLY need is a clutch, EGT, Oil Pressure, Boost, Water Temp gauges

what kit are you going to get or are you going to do your own? We need to know this because some kits are different, some come with injectors some dont. Some come with a turbo timer... some dont... see what I'm sayin? smile.gif

for me it sounds like he's asking weather he should do those mods or not, and he's afraid that they wont be useful when he gets a turbo... you dont need a short shifter for your turbo... it has nothing to do with it... and strut bars are mostly for show, so don't really see how they are going to help him with his turbo either. If he's trying to prepare his car for turbo he shouldn't be doin half of the mods that he listed; they would be nice just for the look of the car or some other purposes, but they have not a lot to do with his turbo.

OP you are nuts and obviously havent done ANY suspension work to your car. When boosting a car suspension is VERY important. You're putting down power that the stock suspension and steering was not designed for. Id say strut bars are a very good idea as well as lowering springs. They wont hurt and will only help the performance of the vehicle.
You can have all the power in the world under that hood but if you cant put it to the ground and control it... then its useless
