most people that use nos to help turbo's use a progressive controller to add it in over time so you don't lose traction and I'm sure some kits have it so you can even set it to not spray when your in turbo RPM ranges

I know what you're asking -- using the nitrous sprayed onto the impellor wheel of a turbo to somehow spin it like a pinwheel in the wind.

The thing you're missing is that a fully spooled turbo spins around 80k+ RPM's. Nitrous is highly pressurized, but it doesn't pack THAT kind of pressure.

Your question is invalid, it doesn't work that way. The only way you use nitrous to spool a turbo faster is in the methods already described: spray it early to provide more power to get the turbo moving sooner, and also to provide more exhaust gas and more heat earlier on to get it moving faster.

There have been people how have played around with the idea. What they did was to add a compressed air container and plumb a nozzle into the compressor side of a Turbo to as you stated prespool the turbo.
1. you would not want to spray nitrous directly on to your compressor wheel as it would cool the wheel and cause fatigue to the metal casuing it to become brittle.(Hot metal with an Instant Cold Charge on it Not good)
2. Using Nitrous would not be a wise choice for the simple fact it is nitrous being ingested straight into the intake charge thus the same effect if you were to prematuraly hit the Nitrous will sitting at the light at low rpm, BOOM No more engine.

I hope that helped you out, I will search and see if I can find some links where people have expermented with it and wrote web articles on it.

A good friend of mine has a 2001 Trans Am WS-6 with a NOS (150 Shot) system and a Turbo Charger.

First time in my life I drove a RWD car that could bust the tires loose in 4th gear at 70 MPH.

So, however it works, it certainly does a good job in his case.

Credit should go to Shadohh. As red pointed out, what was posted above is correct.

i know that shadohh answered the right question, but it seemed like red and 4g63 answered the question that i asked, which was if the nitrous could be sprayed onto the impeller wheel. ok, this topic's dead.

I have also seen nitrous oxide used on intercoolers, Where the intercooler is sealed into a box then they spray nitrous into the box bringing the air temps down to freezing without actually getting any nitrous into the motor wich allows them to run more timing advance and burn more fuel without detonation. It must work pretty good cause the guy was running low 10's in his rx-7. But as far as prespooling a turbo, I don't think that would work, you could use it during the lag period but it would most likely cause you to loose traction making thing's worse plus if something goes wrong you could kiss your pistons goodbye. I have seen people using small shots like the sneekypete system but they mainly use it to cool down the incoming air.
That is the first time I have heard about using NOS for this, but that is a damn good idea. Got me thinking now rolleyes.gif

Nitrous Express (NX) sells intercooler sprayer kits. They are a "rectangle/oval" of tubing with minute holes in the tubing on one side. They spray out a fine mist of compressed Nitrous or CO2 when the car hits full throttle.

Save you the trouble of fabricating your own.
