Default nitrous as a turbo pre-spooler

i've heard that nitrous can be used to spool a turbo prior to a launch. how is this achieved? is it that the nitrous is sprayed into the intake charge to increase the exhaust flow, or is it that the nitrous is sprayed directly onto the wheel in the exhaust flow?

Well it achieves to things.

The main thing is. It increases your HP untill you get into the turbo RPM range.

So a NOS it usually used in first gear, to get out, cause once you top out of first and go into seoncd you should be in the turbo boost range for the rest of the race.

Also it increases exhaust gas flow, so the turbo should spool a few hundred rpms sooner.

its sprayed into the intake charged...use as either a cooler or for more boost.

It would be sprayed on the wheel as a water wheel effect (assuming that what you menT)

I think he meant NOT sprayed on the turbine as a "water wheel" type effect.

Nitrous is used to "help" turbos spool 2 ways.
#1. Adds Hp to help the car get up to the target RPM faster
#2. Increased exhaust gas flow and HEAT to spin the turbine faster/sooner.

no, i understood what you said, shadohh, and random just reiterated it. you sort of answered my question. yes, the waterwheel effect is what i was referring to. so my question about that is how is the nitros plumbed to spray onto the turbine wheel to spin it as well as being plumbed to spray into the intake runners? or am i just way off track in my thinking?

btw, please don't say that i need simple words to understand concepts.

You are off track.

NOS is not sprayed on or near the turbo at all.

think of NOS like gas, the best possible place to spray it is near the fuel injectors.

I have also seen nitrous oxide used on intercoolers, Where the intercooler is sealed into a box then they spray nitrous into the box bringing the air temps down to freezing without actually getting any nitrous into the motor wich allows them to run more timing advance and burn more fuel without detonation. It must work pretty good cause the guy was running low 10's in his rx-7. But as far as prespooling a turbo, I don't think that would work, you could use it during the lag period but it would most likely cause you to loose traction making thing's worse plus if something goes wrong you could kiss your pistons goodbye. I have seen people using small shots like the sneekypete system but they mainly use it to cool down the incoming air.
