Hey Everyone!

I've got some exciting news! I just finished prototyping the new TF-10 with Perfect Power and its ready for sale! Man this thing is AWESOME!! Oh and its about 100 USD CHEAPER than the SMT-6!!
I've got one installed and tuned on my 03 Beta2 Turbocharged Tiburon running E-85 (Ethanol). Let me just say that it made a HUGE difference over the old SMT6 I was using. It has a MUCH higher tuning resolution and more inputs and outputs for even greater control. Oh and it finally has a USB 2.0 Interface so no digging around for an old Serial to USB converter cable. smile.gif

I'll let the specs and pics do the talking. Feel free to ask any questions as I'll try my best to answer them in a timely manner...

The price of the TF-10 is currently going for 300 USD shipped in the US. This is if you take part in the Group Buy I got going on over on newtib. smile.gif

FEATURES OF THE TURBO FUELLER TF10 - IN MORE DETAIL

FUEL INJECTOR CONTROL
The TF10 comes with 2 Peak-and-Hold (P/H) (high power) injector drives capable of handling 10 Amps each. The injector(s) are placed in or before the throttle body and are precisely mapped through the RPM and throttle range, including mapping for Manifold Absolute Pressure (AMP), Engine and Air Temperature. A suitable external MAP (AMP) sensor is required along with the TF10.

IGNITION CONTROL
The Turbo Fueller can intercept and RETARD two ignition signals. This is required to prevent "knocking" at high boost pressure.

BOOST CONTROL
This feature applies to TURBO installations only. It allows waste-gate control through a "bleed" valve above the canister pressure. This feature is a "must-have" for non-decompressed engines. It allows the boost pressure to be set for 24 targets in the RPM range.

LAUNCH CONTROL
This feature is for engines with strong gearboxes. Once the feature is engaged through a foot-switch, it retards the engine above a pre-set RPM target. This in turn allows for more throttle, so that the turbo can spin up and produce pressure. Once the foot-switch is released the retard is removed. The turbo-lag is also thus removed.

AIR FLOW METER CONTROL
The stock airflow meter may "max" out, and the stock ECU may shut the engine down. This can be prevented by routing the signal through the Turbo Fueller TF10 and mapping the signal, or just limiting it to a pre-set value. The TF10 has two circuits to tune an Airflow meter and a pressure sensor.

TURBO FUELLER INPUTS AND OUTPUTS
(All inputs and outputs are protected against wrong polarity and over-current.)

INPUTS OUTPUTS
TPS 2 x 6A Peak and Hold Injector Drives
Engine Temperature 2A Boost Control Valve Drive
Air Temperature Voltage Clamp 0-5V Analog
AMP (Boost Pressure)
MAP Switch
SYNC Input for Crank Trigger

I have an TF-10 for a few months now but never got to install it ona vehicle. Anyway, It will be installed next week on one of the RD-1's finnaly. Will keep posted how it works smile.gif

dmdicks-You are also running timing through this product, correct? This is something the 8-bit community has not been able to do, yet.

Note that it can only retard timing (like the AEM FIC, which probably does all things here without requiring a second rail)

Here's a little secret. The latest firmware of the TF-10 can retard AND Advance timing. smile.gif

Take a look at the software screenshot. That is my current tune. Notice the 5 degrees of advance I'm running in the mid range.

Let me know if you run into any problems. I've got a good technical contact at Perfect Power that helped me get it working right.

fing02.gif Nah, I am still running FIC. Although I do have some little issues left at getting it to work as I would like. I ordered a TF10 for another car owned by a friend of mine which should be turboed soon. It seemed like a good choice since SMT-6 will go out of production. THough I have put my eye on a SMT-8 smile.gif .

Damn, it would be nice if FIC would introduce advanced timing in its next firmware version

It seems that all of the numbers in the Ignition map ar positive. Hence, all of them are either retarding or advancing. How does the software distinguish which is advanced and which is retarded? Or am I blind and do not see something obvious there? smile.gif

I don't think that FIC has launch and boost control. FIC-8 yes but FIC-6 does not. It would be nice to have these options though.

The TF-10 distinguishes between advance and retard by the use of the minus (-) sign. Since I'm running Ethanol (E85) and it has 106 Octane I haven't seen the need to retard any timing, only advance.

I thought about the SMT-8 but its more expensive and it can only drive 2 subinjectors.
