Hi guys, I need help with this turbo, I think it is off a truck. But I need to know if it is capable of being set to around 13 psi? With 3" intercooler piping? It seems to be a medium sized turbo, but im wondering if it will even spool up quick enough to produce boost at around 3000 rpm on my tib?

All help appreciated.

They are made for higher boost applications from what I have heard of. They don't work so well around low boost like 10-15 psi. But they will work on the tib with a t3 flange. I know of people with them on Hondas and Nissans so maybe you should try it out before buying a different turbo.

The Holset turbo is off the Dodge trucks. You will not hit full boost until 4,500rpm. I can garuntee that.

It's the best/popular cost effective upgrade for the Z31's, however I'm not into used turbos so it's not going in mine. The Z31's use them for around 500whp, which is gonna be laggy as hell for the Tib. Unless you plan to get to that level. I would say it would start spooling around 3500rpm.

I was thinking along the same lines, I think i'm going to go with a smaller turbo then this. Would 3" intercooler piping be suitable for a Garrett GT2876R?

Theres no sense in using 3" piping, it just makes more intercooler piping area for the turbo to fill before your engine sees boost, meaning more lag.

go with 2.5" as its a nice balance of CFM capability and still wont cause much extra lag.

yeah, if your using the GT28R there would be no point in 3" piping. thats a small enough turbo where 3" piping with have negative effects. you wont be able to utilize the bigger piping.

i would even reccomend a 2" hot pipe and a 2.5" cold pipe.
