Been getting a lot of questions about my car and what sort of hardware I'm running so I thought I'd share.

Let me give you guys some background real quick. I shipped my US Spec 2001 tiburon over to Korea and I swapped out my stateside-installed Alpine turbo kit with a custom fabricated kit. I'm also the first official person to use the ECU swap kit.

The ecu kit basically opened me up to all the tuning options that Korea has to offer. Here is what I'm currently running:

GK 16bit Siemens ECU
440cc injectors
Turbonetics t3/t04 57 trim turbo
Turbonetics Evolution wastegate
EVO 8 intercooler
2.5bar MAP/temp sensor
2.5 IC piping
2.5 turboback exhaust w/racing cat.
Turbo head gasket
XTRM Super Single clutch kit
8.8 CR with turbo gasket
Apexi AVC-R electronic boost controller
Walbro 255lph pump

As you can see, my setup is fairly simple with just the basics. No pistons, Airram, bbtb, etc.

I boost at ~1.1 bar (16psi) producing 300whp.

The secret is all in the tune. My tune is based on crappy Korean gas so my car is running very rich and yet I still produce 300whp. Before swapping my turbo setup from the Alpine, I managed to get a dyno to compare the alpine setup with my new setup. I STILL have a lot of bottom end power even though my new turbo is significantly larger than the Alpine T25. This is my break-in dyno at 10psi putting down 260whp compared to my stateside dyno-tuned Alpine setup (which I dynoed in the states at 216whp - BIG dyno variation!!).

If you add all the components of my turbo setup, you'll find that it really didn't cost as much as someone would thing to hit 300whp.

Now I've got a set of Wiseco pistons I'm holding off to install because my latest racing craze is mountain racing where there's little difference between 300 and 400whp. I'm focusing on suspesion upgrades currently which is like 10x harder than engine tuning. Aaaaaaah! The fun never stops.

Alright, let the questions and comments fly.

seriouslt Airborne, f*ck the "HP war" and buy some coilovers, sways, and whatever else you need to make your car a mountain driving beast. It will be more worthwhile the $$ in the long run. I understand the suspension mods though, it's a PITA. haha...

have fun, and good tuning!

Yes more pics, AND detail your suspension mods please...
For a long time info from Korea has been about engine only, it would be nice to know what they do regarding suspension (I guess the parts are more or less the same as the parts in the US; but are there any tweaks the local guys know and we don't?)
