I'm not familiar with the fan problem but is there any way the shop can just grind down the piece of the fan that is touching. It would be the cheapest solution and as long as it doesn't effect safety or performance there's no problem.
btw...so awesome, I didn't know you were going Turbo...what shop are you having the work done?

flexalites are slimmer, but not as slim as the fans i have.. the flex alites are like what 2.25" thick or so.. mine are maybe 1.25".. i have one where the turbo is pushing from other side. and other one right where AC fan was, they push alot of air, and i have had not one overheating problem as of yet, and i romped on it for about an hour under ~8psi, having my throttle issues, but never got above normal temp.

i choped mine in half-the flx-220. reversed the polarth and then mounted it in the frount, i should have taken pics, but that will work well so far had no problems and you can keep your AC too.. if you want run a on off switch so you can kick them on mannual
