My friend has a VW turbo, from an audi 1.8T engine. Is this just crap, or can I use it to get 6psi or something?

Most of VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat 1.8T use KKK K03 turbo, that's small turbo, that will spins up fast but you can use it for low hp setup.

BTW, how much hp do you want?

Dont really know. Not that crazy much, I just figured like 5-7 psi would give me like 30-40hp more? I also have 1.8 cam, rside bbtb and airram and pulley. I'll get some bigger injectors, and the new ecu swap kit thats been newly discussed in the forum.

But, for building this, I thought that I'd get a new engine. Correct me if Im wrong, but the elantra had the RD1 engine as well? I have a 1997 tib 2.0 ( coupe in Norway ), and if I get a elantra engine from 1996- 1999, I can use this? I can build the turbo and stuff on the engine, and the swap when I'm done building? This way I'll learn a bit while building too, for future projects. Anything in particular that I've missed?

Dood, I'm not trying to spoil anything for you, but from just reading most of your posts I can tell you don't really know much about turbocharging. I would not reccomend boosting until you've at least done some research and know how to at least RECOGNIZE problems/issues, and you ARE going to have them. good luck

The person that is gonna help me has built turbos on several of cars before. He works as a mechanic. I'm would not even think about this if I was gonna do it myself. As far as the research part, thats what I'm doing right now smile.gif And with this kind of swap, if everything goes to hell, I'll be able to switch back to the original engine. Do you still think its a risky project?

I found this site, which sold turbo kit for our cars. I think this is a same kit that shark racing sells, but this looks more complete. Anyone know anything about it? Any other vendors of this kit?
