Hi there!
what is the the maximum size for a fmic without the need of cutting something for installation? i´ve read some threads about it, but there wasn´t a clear statement about the actual size!
the intercooler must fit in a RD2 tiburon!

you gonna cut something, no way around it. backside of the bumper, bumper core support. what you need to worry about more is getting the proper IC for your turbo application.

i already took a look at some piping setup pics, i think i´ll do it the same way like some of the turbo people here.
as i recently looked under my front bumber, i noticed that there is some space under that plastic bumper support bar. couldn´t this be enough room for a small intercooler? i don´t want to run more than 0,8 bar of boost!

You will cut something. Whatever you do though please dont just get rid of the plastic bumper underneath. I trimmed mine for my IC and it ended up really nice and clean. I have to figure what Ill do when I go bigger though.

i bolted mine to the bottom of my bumper reinforcement.. didnt have to cut anything, but i did have an aftermarket front bumper also.
yeah, depends on your turbo setup also on what size intercooler you are gonna get.
you CAN fit a small to mid size IC behind the stock bumper without cutting a thing though.

I don't know the size of it but the speedfactor FMIC could be bolted up with no modiciactions, it pokes out the bottom just a bit but worked fine.

thanks for confirming that alex.. i wasn't sure since i never had my stock bumper on, but i had that IC and it seemed like it would work with stock.
anyway, i BELIEVE the core was 26"x6"x2.5".

yeah, mines 6 tall by something. I got it from johnnyracecar which is gone now.
i just measured the width of the hole in the stock bumper and made sure it would fill it up. on each side you see about a inch of the tanks.
I then bolted it directly to the buttom of the bumper then made another bracket and bolted it below the radiator.
DON'T screw up the bumper (the black plastic) that is what takes the force and spreads it out in case of a crash. the piece you see on the outside is just a bumper cover. Some people cut it all up. Really not the best idea unless you replace it with something more substantial. ie: cage.

I have a 3 inch core and nothing had to be cut for my install.Keep in mind that the thicker the intercooler the better as opposed to thinner and taller.Of course it all depends on your application like mentioned above haha.gif
