Maf .... Before Or After Turbo
Here is a pic I found of Summers turbo tib. ( it is a pic of a magazine) The maf is after the turbo.

Here is mine. The maf is before the turbo.

Which is right and why. Any negative effects from the after turbo mounting

summers is right ,yours is ok but your ecu wont compensate for how much air is coming into your manifold. It just knows how much is coming through your filter. Plus where you have it its turbulant air not steady air and it will cause wrong readings through your maf.
there is more air being pushed behind your turbo so your maf needs to know how much is actually getting into the engine move your maf back. your car will go faster or even run better.
no negative effects, possitive effects fing02.gif
my opinion i know how maf's work im just a newb with turbo's so i might be wrong just tryin to help though. cool.gif

actually no.. u want it before the turbo...
summers car wasnt a driver so whatever for her
but seriously before the turbo is the only way to avoid hot turbo air damaging the maf

yah, i was also told before the MAF, tha filament, i believe its platinum filament can be easily damaged by 10+ or any positive pressure along with the hott turbo air coming thru it.. not good for tha MAF..
you dont want the filter hooked right on the MAF, should try for 6-12" away so the readings are more accurate.. hooked directly to filter will give u lotta turbulent air, and wont be as accurate, which is not the best thing under boost, specially when most people are adding fuel according to what the MAF volts are at..
