It could be. But even if it was, it was done under low boost (relative). Under high boost, you could try babying it, and it's going to explode the same way. Besides, what's the point in boosting the hell out of a car and not being able to drive it hard?

I remember Onpol exploding one. I think Jaws021 went through one. And tdonnell has gone through 3.

Here's my Quiafe. As you can see, it's quite a bit tougher in construction:

well first off what type of manual trany should i be looking for,

you have the beta 2 witch has to have a small portion ground off ( im ok with that)

the beta nothing impressive older and more than likely to have more miles than a beta 2

i dont know if the 1.8 manuals from rd1's work.

i want something low miles obviously so i dont have to spend to much rebuilding it.

and correct me if im wrong beta2 02-03? right?!

and is that quafe part number work loneshark gave me for all transmissions beta-beta2 ( 97-03)?

The grinding you have to do is minimal.

1.8 = older/higher miles. Given time for the work and money for the transmission, there's not really a good reason to NOT get a newer gearbox.
