internal wastegate turbo/external wastegate header
Hey guys i got a teo4h turbo and its internally wastegated. That poses a big problem for my ceramic coated external wastegated custom header. i was wondering if there is any way to adapt the turbo to not use the internal flap without buying a new exhaust housing ? (via. just taking the flap out or welding it shut ?)
If not does anyone know where to get a external wastegate exhaust hosing for the turbo?

how is it set up? pics? some turbos set up for internal gate have a seperate flange that can come off and you bolt directly to that.. otherwise you can get a flange that goes over the internal WG output area.. or remove the flapper and internal WGA.
it really depends on what yours looks like on how you tackle it.

^^ Like socks said. Give us a pic and we can tell you more. Generally most externally gated set ups have the external wastegate connected to the manifold before the turbo and plumbing the exhaust back into the exhaust stream after the turbo. If this is your set up then just weld the flapper valve shut.

Welding the internal gate flap would be the least expensive. Just make sure that your external gate is positioned at the stream flow of the exhaust gas so that it will get enough priority to bleed off exhaust gas.
