If You Have Pauter Rods........!

I have have my motor built for about 2 years now and as Jon said i have to ACTUALLY notch each bottom of the cylinder walls.Ill try to find some old build up pics of my motor and post them but im sure if you do a search you will be able to see the pics i posted.
I cant remember but i think i did have to notch alot on each wall to clear the new Rod clearance.
Funny thing is since the new motor was installed 2 years ago i do hear a a small knocking sound when the engine warms up and that CAN be a rod slightly hitting or it can just be the forged Pistons making the noise.
I have been boosting hard on my car ever since and motor still runs very well so it might NOT be a rod sound

i've been looking for new rods, and find this thread is a bit disturbing, but i can't find much alternative to pauter. is this the pic of the notch? so i guess a 1/2 inch notch is the way to go?
when i spoke to pauter today, they suggested that notching is pretty standard practice with oversized aftermarket rods.
on a separate topic, they didn't consider their EDM full pressure direct pin oiling really necessary, though the optional oil channels might be a good idea:

they thought that most aftermarket piston rings do a good job of feeding enough oil to the pins.

It's assembly lube. You are supposed to use that on all moving parts as it protects them during first startup.

My block is going in tomorrow! Dont have the rods yet but its getting notched. Im doing the assembly so everything should be perfect.
MJ, if you see this thread anymore, im interested to know what you guys use for rods over there. Not everyone has the 1.8 combo do they?

on a side note,
honing the big end is one of hte last steps that Pauter are doig to their rods
so when the rods is positioned on the honing machine it will make a slight spot on each side of the beam
a bit like if something rubbed on the rod (similar to john pics)
