I Need A New 2.5bar Map And A Resistor.. Help Me!
hey guys
I need a new 2.5bar map sensor that will fit in a 03 manifold... I had to convert from a MAF system to a MAP system. I have looked on HMA for the exact pins that goto the new Map sensor. Well there was one problem, The main power feed to the Map sensor should have been 5 volts. Well the original feed from the stock MAF sensor was 12 volts. So i blew her out. So now the car has gone into limp mode, and runs pig rich....
So does anyone know where i can pick up a 2.5bar map sensor locally? is it a universal GM type map??
AND does anyone know how i can bring the 12 volts down to 5 to feed the map the right voltage..
Just for background info..
I have a SFR Remapped ecu tuned for 18psi.
Precision turbo T3 super 60
630cc injectors
Converted to a return style fuel system
255 intank walbro pump
65mm BBTB
Ported head and manifold
Thanks in advanced

is this going directly on the intake manifold? if not you can get a gm type map. im using the 3 bar. otherwise sfr has the 2.5bar map on their site
a gm type may work on the im as well im not sure though

yes it is going into the IM... Ordering from SFR takes a long time to get here.. i was looking for another way out.. so i wouldnt have to wait so long...
As i was looking at the GM 3 bar.. there are only 3 wires to it?? and the one i have has 4 (ground, power 5 volts, IAT, and MAP)

You could also go to the local parts store and sit there looking at their MAP sensors for awhile. Most folks will let you look through their stock if they are there with you.
thanks for these reply's guys. Im going to look around to find a voltage regulator. I put the IAT to the volts to the map and it reads about 3.8 volts at idle, and around 4500 rpms it reads close to 5 volts. i just wanted to see if the map still worked. It works and the CEL goes off and comes out of limp mode. So the map still works, i didnt kill her with the 12 volts. smile.gif i might just order a new one since i dont really trust it after being boosted to 12volts..
but
Does anyone know where i can get a voltage regulator online?? just as a backup if i cant find one locally. ill find the resistance for you guys in the morning.

just get the 5 volts from the car itself,
tap in the tps 5 volts wire it will work and is going to be way less complicated
