How many people are running e85?
With there being 2 new gas stations near me that are now offering e85, and I saw the guy here (03tibe85) who runs it....its been making me wonder how many others have it and how does running e85 on a turbo setup differ from running regular high octane gas?

E85 is about 106 Octane and burns cooler than any premium you can buy so you can run leaner mixtures and advance timing beyond anything you can do with premium. Plus in CO its 1.99/gallon which is about a dollar cheaper than premium. Win/Win in my book! If there was a drawback it would be that E85 takes about 30% more fuel compared to gasoline. With proper tuning though you can still reach near stock efficiency levels. I get between 29-30mpg on the HWY if I stay outta boost. smile.gif

You would need new injectors capable of the needed 30% more fuel. Because how the OE ECUs tune based off of Lambda value you should be able to get away with no tuning needed. Just plop in the larger injectors and go. smile.gif I know that's how it was on a Beta2 MAP and MAF.

What I get? I don't have to run OBD. I don't have to get sniffered and plugged into. I can run a full standalone with no cat and race fuel all day long and blow the E85 out of the water. That's what I get for living in a non-green state. wink.gif
