Huh, wut? Where did you get 1.5x? I get 30mpg when I stay out of boost. Plus there are various ways of making E85 that does ZERO impact to the environment. Can gasoline/deisel manufacturers say that?

Ah ok. I was confused and its only 30-35% more and as long as you optimize your spark timing and lean out the AFR its more like 20-25%. smile.gif

That's 30% more diesel, and 30% more tax, and 30% more tires to make/dump, and 30% more trucks for the transport. Not very green now. lol j/p

Ethanol (at it's current state) is a crock.
It's mostly environmentally friendly because the people in third world countries the crops use to feed at a discounted price once the developed world's food demand was met have now starved to death, producing less CO2.
Ethanol has the potential to be useful, but it's not the technology you'll see in 30 years. So not much use wasting time on it.
