Greddy Emanage Vs. Smt-6
I have the FIC 30-1910 on my 05 Beta II Tib. Only thing I had to do for the Tib ECU was reflash the slave software. I downloaded it from the AEM website, mine is one of the first batch of FICs AEM released.
yeah, the 30-1910 is the right one for our tibs! the other ones support special kinds of crank sensors, like 10V crank sensors instead of standard 5V sensors, Just get the 30-1910, it´ll work great.
And yes, with your MAF based tib, you have do use the Z110 firmware with the FIC do make it able to understand the odd injection signal sent out by the stock ecu. I think this odd signal is the reason why the injection signal altering in the Emanage don´t work with our cars, but the FIC can handle it well.
Just buy it, download the firmware update and apply this to your FIC, it´s very simple!
Has someone already looked at the O2 sensor signal options? I think this is the greatest advantage of the FIC. You are able to alter this signal by the FIC depending on MAP and RPM, or Throttle and RPM, or O2in and RPM.... So you don´t have to worry about the stock ECU is fighting against your fuel adding settings anymore, because you can cheat it by changing the O2 sensor signal and make it think you´re running stoich (or make it think you´re running lean to make your stock ECU adding fuel.... many settings to play with)!!!
You are also able to just alter the MAF/MAP signal (just like the SMT-6) if you don´t want do hook up all the fuel injectors to the FIC. Addionally injectors are no problem, too (but are not necessary since you have full control over the stock injectors and can extend the injection signal to up to 100%)
There is also an automatic "Fuel Injector change" function in the tuning software. You can input the old and new injector size and the software calculates a base map for you!
As you can see, i´m really addicted to this unit! Hope my turbo parts i bought from mwood will arrive soon, can´t wait to ride on the AUTOBAHN (without any speed limits here in my region) with my turbo setup!

At first I tried the FIC without the O2 sensor modifier. The ECU stays in closed loop during low boost and pulled fuel with the short term fuel trim which also ends up changing the long term fuel trim. I hooked the O2 modifier up and am using it in the MAP based % mode. I drop the O2 voltage by 50% as soon as boost starts. No more problems with the ECU pulling fuel with the fuel trims. My long term trim has been running at zero for the past few months.
Here are some pictures i took during the install:

noticed that bunch of wires of the FIC harness? don´t worry, you only need about half of them, because there are wires for 6 cylinders, hall style crank sensor (we have mag style), second cam seonsor (we have only one) and vtec included (and etc.), which we don´t need.
i hat to build a bracket to mount the fic below the steering wheel. wasn´t able to find a better place for it, but it fits perfect in this location, and the harness is exact long enough!

I could write a connection diagramm for the FIC installation, but since my tiburon is MAP based (Euro spec) it uses a different ECU than yours over there! So there are some slight differences in wire colors and pin numbers on the Stock ECU connector!
so i went to the shop thats gonna be workin on my car. they are piecing the turbo kit together and all that but what they cant get their hands on is some connecting rods and 4340 pistons. anyone know where i can get these?
also the kit they are suggesting me is gonna cost 3500 bucks plus labour to bend the intercooler piping. anyone know where i can get a nice kit (intercooler, BOV(i might just get HKS SSQ) intercooler piping, weastegate, oil lines yadda yadda yadda)

well hey say i need the rods and pistons to strengthen everything up... u dont think its neccesary socks? i will honestly go off with what you guys tell me since no one here in edmonton knows much about turbo'd tibs... this site is where the knowledge is at!
