Default Garrett and Turbonetics (same???)

Are Garrett and Turbonetics turbos the same?

I found a good deal for a Garrett T3 with integrated wastegate; but I'm considering either the Champion manifold or the UFB/HP manifold. I know the UFB/HP manifold works for the Turbonetics T3 hybrid, but there's not much info otherwise. I'm pretty sure the Champion Auto one works with the Garrett.

I just want to make sure I can get a manifold for whatever turbo I buy.

thanks,
ac

Cheuk would be the best person to know what turbo's fit the Champion Manifold.

Ballistic Racing would be the best to know what turbo's fit their manifold.

Sorry, I don't want to point you down the wrong road, and have you waste $600 on a turbo that won't fit.

Well, I know the BR fits the T3 and T3/4, and Champion's fits the T25 and T28. I'm just wondering if the housing (or at least the flanges) are the same. I found a couple of sites that list the T3 and T3/4 as a Garrett product.

So it's a bit confusing . . .

worst case, I order from Cheuk if I get a T25 or 28 and from HP if I get the T3

It's the Ray Hall Turbocharger site in Oz. They have the T25,T28, and the T03 and T3/4 models all listed as Garrett. Still trying to figure this out, though.

That is correct. The Turbonetic turbo use primarily mix and match Garrett parts with some machining... just like the HKS turbos.

One of these days Garrett will get off their lazy but#s and actually build a performance automotive division and build turbos specifically for and market specifically for the high performance turbo crowd. It would kill off many of the other turbo companies... but I guess its like crushing ants to them.

The Champion and HKS manifolds from Korea will work with Garrett T3 type exhaust housings.
