Some shops don't want to do it cause it's so thin. I did it though. But I also had to tap the pan because the turbo drain was so low. Depending on your turbo height, you may not have a choice.

Sounds pretty good so far.

I would just have the oil return back to the oil pan..... I mean its a proven way that works that 90% turbo cars use..

Also you would be able to take off the pan to do it.

Just be prepaired for things to go wrong and dont loose hope.

My Turboron still has a few kinks but its all worth it, 7psi and runnin strong.

I hadn't read this before, but it's really good to see a member doing his research. The MS is pretty frigging easy to tune. KoreanCorvette, I think his member name is, was going to do a writeup on how to do it, but I haven't seen it yet. Check out the MS forums, and make sure you have all of the software before you start, and you'll have no problems, especially since the hard stuff is already done. For mine, we used the logger to log several slow and then high speed runs, then fed it into megatuner I think it was, to output new maps. Upload the map, and bam, tuned.

Rinse and repeat a few times. If you want to, you can also adjust settings on your own, to get things exactly how you want them.

Took us about an hour the second tuning session to get it perfect, and haven't had a problem since.

You CAN use peak and hold injectors without a resistor box on the MS. In the MegaManual it goes through how to set it up.

Hey thanks for everyones inputs. My basic thinking on the drain plug is right with Stocker. I dont have a welder and honestly going into the block feels like a more solid placement. I have no problem taking the oil pan off its a pretty basic procedure lol.

Im very excited to get the megasquirt and learn to work with it. from everything i have heard it seems to be very easy to work with. The other great thing is since its plug and play I can still pass safty and emmisions.

If i was going to lose hope on this car I would have done that along time ago. The damn thing has been totalled twice now and blown a transmission. I rebuilt the car both times by myself and did the Trans aswell. I definatly Know my way around the car. Plus it helps Im a certified Auto Body Specialist.

I will be ordering the megasquirt in the next few days so I will update this as soon as it gets in and i have a chance to look at it.

If you plan on doing any sort of road racing then tapping the block for the return is definitely the way to go! I used to have my pan tapped but noticed under hard deceleration around corners my drain line would back up and oil smoke would go out my tail pipe. Wasn't very cool. Now with my drain going into the block I have had zero issues.

Cool cool makes me feel a little better knowing someone that has done it. I always seem to hear about people that tap the pan and it getting backed up on them. seems like tapping the block will make that near impossible.
