LMAO! Well this is what I built. The GTX3076R turbo alone was 2700 USD. Cheap? Was in a time crunch that's why went with EVO manifold. Will have a custom manifold made after we figure out how to get a free sequential tranny built.

Love it ! More pics, please :beercheers:

This is what I started with...was V6 Turbo that burned to ground.

I'm talking about the manifold bolt on the lower right. I drilled and tapped the head for an OEM stud and nut.

Do you have dyno graph ?
|
blitz just in case you haven't, have you seen this? https://www.hyundaiaftermarket.org/f...67#entry716567
|
Yep, the guy sent me a message , but the shipping will be a lot + taxes.
I'm going with the Evo setup 100%. The intake manifold is the courier's office and I will pick it up later today. Turbo is paid and should be here by the end of the week. |
Are you going back to a stock RD intake manifold?
Unfortunately all the tuning took place over an hour away from me and I couldn't be there. I'll try to get a graph from the driver but last I heard he was just over 380whp at 23-24psi. |
Yeah, stock intake manifold. Going to pick it up right now. It's painted black so it might add 20-30whp
|
That's what we have with the race car, RD manifold on Beta 2 head with a 75mm mustang throttle body. :)

:laughing3: |
LMAO! Nice one, but you know me better than that. lol Man I wish I could find my old dyno sheets.. :(
If only TibbyTib would stop being so damn busy and we could strap his car, that has my old engine but a smaller turbo, on the dyno. He should be around 320-350whp. I'll ping racer and see if he can get a electronic copy of the last dyno graph. |

Yup!! lol but this time I can blame TibbyTib. ;)
|
03tibe85 so you are boosting Tibs for living ?
|
Don't we all live for boosting Tibs?
|
For a living no. As a hobby, sure! My current ride is a 03 GK V6 that's supercharged at 9.5psi running a Haltech Elite 2500. And no I don't have a dyno graph yet. lol
|
:Crylol:
|
If you don't have dyno graph you can take a pic showing us the middle finger :) Lets see that engine bay !
|
Spoke to Evo owner and he told me that the stock wastegate is set to 0.7 bar - 10psi. So again someone is talking bullshit and it's not me ;)
|
Yes, EVO 8 is around 10-11psi. Evo 9's and 10's I believe boost around 14psi. But, considering you don't know the true condition of the turbo, it could boost more or less.
|
JonGTR I agree , but 03tibe85 wrote that it is set to 18psi ?! Thats almost double?! "you will blow your motor" and so on ...I mean if you are not sure about something don't claim you know it for a fact!
How is the weather in US ? Here is like a f*cking desert... 43C - 110F !!! I have to work on the car , cause somebody is waiting for my ITBs and I have IM waiting ro replace them. Going back to being stock :) |
LOL. Well after some quick research I found out we're both wrong. Stock EVO wastegate should be 11-12 psi. Still enough to blow your motor if you don't get your sh*t together! ;)
|
10-11psi max !
You are wrong about a lot of stuff brother :D A lof of turbo Tibs and no videos ? 0-60, drag racing, track days ... |
Here's a vid of one of my many track days. Tib at this point had a cold air intake, different intake manifold, and cat back exhaust and that's it!! Oh and I had a SMT8 for tuning and controlling the variable valve intake manifold.
Track Day And here's Racer's FB page that has his run with the engine I built, where he spun off but was on target to beat the FWD World Record. Jonathan Newcombe Pikes Peak Hill Climb Run I haven't been back to the track since I supercharged it since unlike most people I don't do things half ass and wonder why things break and blow up. ;) |
Don't tell me you are the one driving :D My dog can drive 10 times better
I know Newcombe's car. You are telling me that you built his engine? You know that he is using the same Evo 8 manifold , right :D Cheap motherf*ckers :lol2: Please don't go back to the track :beercheers: |
You sure talk a lot of sh*t every time someone posts track vids. Since you seem to be a professional driver, let's see your track vids. Or tell us about all these races you've won? Who's car have you been driving?
|
I can talk as much as I want !
Your logic is great  so when you watch ufc, f1 or football you have to be proffy to comment it, right ?! I have won some , lost some and can take and give back. You are just another cry baby. Are you fat with small willy? |
Oh, real nice! You beat a stock '84 Saab and now you're king of the streets and drive better than the professionals. :fp:
|
So fatty please don't post in my topic ;) Your fat ass is not welcome :Mom:
|
I'm fine with that. lol I'll just grab a bag of popcorn and wait until either your engine goes boom, or you tree the car street racing. :ricesmiley:
And... :nobody: |
You are waiting for a long time. You said the same sh*t when I first posted about my ITBs...pathetic piece of sh*t! You have fun when someone else fails. Damn, you are a real man ;)
Eat your popcorn while I live my life :finger2: http://media.snimka.bg/s1/5937/038118204-big.jpg?r=0 Turbo is here :dancer: Started working on the intake manifold and TB. Tomorrow will be porting the sh*t out of them :D |
Like I said I won't get into an arguing match with you but its probably a good thing you live in a different country.. ;)
FYI, the passenger, TibbyTib, had never been on a road course before so I took it easy on him. I'm sure he'll chime in when he's back from camping and back up my skills. :) You 100% sure that's a stock EVO 8 turbo? Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like the Mitsu part and serial # info is either missing or sanded off which can be a sign that its a modded or china knock off turbo. Here's a pic of a Legit Turbo for you to compare https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...317_184248.jpg |
Yeah I'm cheap and I bought chinese knock off :D
My turbo is from Evo 8.5 The cold side of Evo 8 and 8.5 are the same, but the hot side is different. If it is single gate it means 10.5 if the gate is double it is 9.8 ;) If you ask why the serial is "9.8" it's because originally the hot side was 9.8 ! http://media.snimka.bg/s1/5938/038120496-big.jpg?r=0 http://media.snimka.bg/s1/5938/038120500-big.jpg?r=0 The intake manifold and TB are already ported. http://media.snimka.bg/s1/5938/038120497-big.jpg?r=0 |
How did you port the manifold without cutting it apart and welding it back together?
More like a partially ported intake manifold... |
I think he means port matched?
Looks like a decent turbo, thanks for the clearer pic. Could be slight damage on the tips of the compressor blades but looks like nothing to be concerned about. Are you going to weld 4 extra injector bungs on the manifold or get some sort of spacer plate? |

More like a partially ported intake manifold... I'm sorry I forgot that here you have prove anything with pics ... my bad !!! You are just another expert, right ?! You were sure as f*ck that I did not cut it :finger2: http://media.snimka.bg/s1/5939/038122200-big.jpg?r=0 Anything else? The turbo is in perfect condition. No play, none, zero! No cracks and there is NO damage on the blades ;) I will weld 4 extra injectors bugs. I think that way will be better... What do you think will work best ? Had birthday yesterday so no time for the car. Today will fire it without ITBs for the first time. Next thing on the list is wideband. Have a nice day, f*ckers  |
Do you have A/C? If not I'd weld the bungs on the bottom of the manifold so you can use a stock fuel rail and just run a long bolt and nut through to bolt the 2 rails together. If you have A/C then the compressor will get in the way of the fuel rail.
The key is the injector angle and spacing. If you try to put the bungs anywhere but close to the head like stock then you'll have to have a custom fuel rail made. You need to make sure the injector angle is close to stock as well so the fuel sprays towards the intake valves and not directly towards the intake runner. |
Yes, I have AC. I will think about it.
Going out to get it all back together. Hopefully no issues :beercheers: |
The car is so quiet, it's strange
I will try my best to make the dual rail setup work. I want my stock idle  I was talking to a lot of guys lately and some of them are telling me to run it without BOV ?! Read a lot, did my research and there are definitely some tuners who tune their cars without BOVs. WTF ?! Some of you running without BOV ? Please don't tell me that my turbo will spin backwards    The best place to feed oil ? The right upper side or there is some better one ? Water feed from the TB will be easy , cause I don't use that line. |
