ok i will be beta swaping my accent soon, now i will be running the ecm from a 1.6 accent, now what i want to know is how can i chip or reprogram my 1.6 ecm to run my beta 2 at its full performance???

 

I heard it's possible to reprogramm ECM through OBD-II port connecting it to a COM port of PC and using special software.

but that's all I know

 

i dont think the alpha ECU can control a BETA... actually im almost positive... why cant you just swap to a beta ECU

what i have heard from fellas you have done this swap is that you can keep your accent wiring harness and use the beat 2.0 ecu, you just need to extend a couple of sensor wires and flip (switch) a couple of wires in the ecu harness pin side

i'm pretty sure the 1.6 ECU CAN run the engine but prolly won't run it to it's best performance.. if you get it reprogrammed like you said than it should run fine.. when i first swapped in my beta i ran it on the 1.5DOHC ecu out of the x3 accent and it ran alright.. i don't know how much the other ecu added cuz i did ecu/ exhaust/cat/headers plus other little stuff all at once...
