Any of you guys having problems filling up at the gas station?
Notice that even if you have an empty tank, the dang pump stops pump at like 2-5 gallons like if the gallon was full?

I remember back on HA, Bry posted something about a purge valve. He created an independent switch to purge the system. Since the stock ecu really isnt active, he indicated that the system needed to be purged every now and then...

Anyone have this problem?

Ive been having this annoying problem for quite some time now...

Ive been haltec for over a year now and about 20K miles.

yea... its that dam valve..

Ill talk to random to see if he can search the HA forums to see what Bry did.
Or
Ill try and find Bry's old email addy... hopefully he can show me what he did.

I think it was just a simple switch to the purge valve.

Sorry i ment gas station..

I need to stop pausing and doing other shit while im writting up a post...

The problem is that when you go to pump gas at a gas station... youll go ahead remove the gas cap,... insert pump... start pumping.... then once it hits 3-6 gallons,... it stops

Even if your on empty...

On a stock ECU system,... Something in the ECU triggers a valve, that releases pressure in the gas tank (i assume). An old former FX/HA.com member "bry" who lived in Aussie land and was an R&D car for haltec ran into this issue and reported it...

at the time i didnt have the problem... so i didnt care.

Well now i have the issue... and its annoying the crap out of me... I Always have to stand next to the pump, and keep removing and reinserting the dam pump until the tank is full.

01, it's the same in Ukraine.
I think gas is starting to booble (when lot's of air is in the gas) or something and pump stops thinking that tank is full.

when you remove the cap, I think you already release the pressure.

try putting pump not so deep in the fill up hole.

you're right you just need to either activate or desactivate the purge valve..
the haltec should be able to control this with a little relay
worst case install a switch in the gas cap door so it wil lactivate the purge valve when you open it

If you're serious about racing, then why not remove the system and the tank alltogether and install a fuel cell and inline pump. fing02.gif
I plan on doing that after I get the PRS installed.
