It's been discussed on other forums before. And this has been out for a while.

It's a remote mount turbo to save space and not to deal with making an exhaust manifold for a V8. This is good strictly for racing, because water can get into filter as well as turbo can get damaged by rocks, bumps, etc. Also, running such long lines will make you have lots of lag and once again there is a big chance those lines will get damaged.

They showed this on 2 guy garage on TV, as well as it was posted in Motor Trend, and Turbo magazines.

It is back there for the track racing where you are going to keep it at high rpms, long time to get the pressure
makes more room in engine and the air is cooler

nice turbo setup. First time i saw it, thought it was for a MR vehicle. Also, i would have to agree for someone above..this is only useful for racing it on a track somewhere due to where it is located and how exposed it it to the weather.

ive also seen this set up for the newer camaros, i like it, its new and innovative, and with a big fat v8 engine space is always an issue.
