for low boost 5-8psi i would say that stock pistons 10.3:1 will be good enough.. if your strapped for $$$ and ur running 10-12 a decomp. plate should be fine.. other wise when boosting higher i would go with 8.5:1 compression forged pistons..
Would running 8-9psi on stock compression almost be the same as 10-11 on 8.5:1 since the compression dropped? For some reason I always thought it would work kinda like that, but have never really known. Also where's the best place to get forged pistons?
This question also depends on good fuel management if you have really good fuel management you will be fine with stock internals on 10-13 psi the hyundia rods are alot shorter which makes them stronger than the honda's I am use to messing with and on my turbo d-series civic I was running 10-12 on weak rods with a slightly lower Comp but you can also develop your own cheap water injection system here are some websites:

Another thing I have noticed about this website(not an insult it is based solely on my insight) that you guys on here are more willing to shell out alot of money for things that can be achieved with just a little bit of money and some good knowledge it is easy to turbo a vehicle and if you guys are like me( a college student with a little bit of money to tune my car as best as it can while being reliable at the same time) then you should do your research and learn how to do things so when people need your help you will be able to do it. If you have any questions about the water injection just let me know I have turboed alot of different vehicles but the knowledge its self is very easy and can be done very easily. Also if anyone else would like to know more things about turbocharging and doing it yourself here is the website that has given me unlimited knowledge on how to turbo vehicles and do it effectivle it is mostly for honda's but on the forums you can find anything directly related to turboing your vehicle. later Dustin aka Meddlingmage on hmt
