Honestly, if you're going for BIG #'s, then a built automatic will be much better than the manual.
Level 10 will help you out with that.
I bet it would be just as expensive or possibly cheaper.

One of my dad's friends wanted $700 for the swap but I had to still buy the tranny so honestly, it would probably come out to the same as building up an auto. If i cant find a place in NJ to do the swap, Ill just build up the automatic..cause theres a place about 40 minutes from me that does that.
We'll see.
We'll see.

You guys aren't looking at the big picture at all.
$1100, and you have a B...U...I...L...T automatic transmission.
or
$700 and you'll have a STOCK manual transmission
$500 for a clutch kit that will hold over 300whp. And don't forget to change the TOB all the damn time.
$200-$600 for gears to handle the shock that a manual tranny gives them.
And you cannot shift as fast as the auto.

im not planning to go into the 500hp range for a looong time.
Right now i just want everything to be perfect. I have to calculate the exact costs of everything and then come to a decision. If it comes to the point where the manual tranny costs outweigh the autos then Ill go that way etc.

Ok i found out what was wrong with my car. Alex asked me what my wastegate's spring was and i remembered it was 7.2 or so, he told me to get the 3.6 psi spring and see if the car just has too much boost...BINGO, car ran fantastic, AEM indicated i was running a little lean under boost and i noticed a CEL for my 1st o2 sensor, replaced it with a new bosch sensor and car was pulling hard as fvck all the way to redline at 13-13.5 afr under boost with no tune, very similar to alex's tib- he gets around the same at 5 pounds
...but i have to say about shifting faster than the auto transmission, not sure about the built auto but the stock auto shifts very slow, it takes its sweet arse time compared to clutch-shift-release that alex can shift his at, not to mention autos cant launch as good. Also i would have a hard time finding/trusting somebody close to build the auto for racing for me for that price (1100), most likely double that since its a hyundai and in jersey the only cars that people like to work on are hondas and mitsus. And a stock manual tranny would be 100 at the local pick and pull here in NY (already asked). The way it looks now when the time comes ill most likely go manual, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
