Im pretty sure the wastegate spring is set at 7psi. Alex and i havent looked yet but we were thinking thats one possible thing we should look at.

I dont even have a booster controller set up in the car yet, just bought one a few days ago..not sure if the vacuum/boost line is directly connected to the wastegate either.

Sorry i know Im not much help..

oh yeah... you've got an external wastegated turbo (i just looked at your setup pics) and there is really nothing much we could do about lowering the boost on that unless to you get a new spring with a lower lb/psi setting (not like a wastegate actuator of an internally wastegated turbo, even if is set at 7psi, you can still lower it down by adjusting the rod)... and since you dont have the boost controller installed yet and viper996 just took care of your car, yes the vacuum/boost line is directly connected to the wastegate

as of this moment with the current setup that you have... you wont be able to boost no more than 4 psi without being lean and get that "hitting a wall" feeling, just hold on and wait untill you get the fuel components and the fuel manangement in, ok...

Gotcha.. fing02.gif

but why do you think my car does this and alex's doesnt? he has a smaller turbo but he still boosts about 4psi and is all good. I think he might have his springs changed on his wastegate though..not sure.

I am pretty confident that its the stock computer pulling you lean as it did the same thing on me.

Try reseting the computer and go for a run. But you have to go full throttle right away if not the stock computer adjusts the fuel maps when you are just partial throttle driving.

Also try removing the wastegate spring this will allow you to see if its actually boost/automatic transmission problem. I highly doubt its the auto causing this problem though

Like I said, it doesn't matter what you do. As long as you have the stock ECU "somewhere" in the fuel setup, then it's gonna lean you out. It's got to go.

My car - No Fuel modifications period. At least 5 pounds boost, pulls hard as a mutha to redline. No cut off. Same set up, just difference is manual. FMU is there but i dont have it hooked up because if i do i get a terrible wall at 3k.

Ill be getting a AEM wideband soon and ill be able to tell exactly what my afr is

After i get this damned clutch install finished of ill be installing my extra injector kit with my smt-6 for more boost but for right now and in the past my car hasnt had any fuel/ignition mods and it runs like a champ.

What really intrigued me about her car is the fact that if you shift it manually it boosts fine, oh and also the cutoff doesnt seem to be dependant on her AFR, sometimes itll cut off at 13.5-8. Which is why this is confusing. And yes she has a wideband.

OH and thanks to the mods for letting me know my sig was too big before deleting it. tongue.gif [/sarcasm]

autotragic gear ratios are spread wider appart..
so. .more load on the engine..
with a manual tranny with "tighter" ratios so less load on the engine...

might be the reason why if she shift gears manually engine revs better..

but, like she has been told.. 4 psi is quite the normal limit for a non-upgraded fuel system

Well, I am taking this car to Perfect Power on June 2 to get the smt6 installed and tuned. So, if its the tranny then tuning will be useless. Damn you autotragic.

But if 90% of you guys thing its a tuning problem then I guess ill be alright when I go there.

SMT-6 allows for more fuel compensation than the stock ECU I'm sure, so tuning will still help.

Does the problem get worse as you go up in gears? Like 1st gear isn't as bad, while 3rd gear the problem is considerably worse? If so, then what Denisst said would be true as the engine is under higher load as the gear ratios go up.
