Default Car started now won't

So I have been off of the forums for some time and am just now getting back. Hopefully for awhile.

Well here is my problem. I picked up an Alpine Supercharger a while back from HyundaiKitCoupe. I installed it along with upgrading the fuel pump, injectors, rail (made by sox) and installing a megasquirt PnP from KFX with wide band. Along with a variety of other things.

So at various points I made sure the car would start but didn't rev or drive it. Example after installing injectors, pressure regulator and pump.

When everything was done the car started and idled just fine. I slowly brought the RPM's to 3k and had no issues and good A/F ratios. So I decided WTF I'm going to drive around the block with it. I drove it about 1/2 mile mainly in 2nd and 3rd gear never breaking 2500-3000 rpm or 30mph. Car was doing fine so I turned around to go back to the garage and all hell broke loose.

Car sounded like it was running on 2 cylinders, A/F ratios were bouncing all over the place. Touch the throttle at all and the car would sputter. Using first and 1k RPM in 2nd I limped the car back to my garage. Turned the car off, opened the garage door, restarted the car and drove it in.

Next day car won't start. Starter turns over but no attempt to fire or even start.

Hooked a timing light to it and it shows spark on each wire.

I have not pulled the plugs or injectors to check them.

I did swap the OEM ECU back in and there is no change in car not starting.

I've been too busy to devote time into this problem but hell if anybody has any ideas I am all ears. Take a guess.

My guess: throttle sensor

Could I check that by turning the car to the on position and then using the Megasquirt hooked to a computer to see if there is a value recorded for throttle deflection?

Or take the TPS out of my daily driver and check it then swap back regardless of out come.

Stocker thanks for the guess. This will be my first try when I get time.

check your spark plugs... legit. would be willing to bet at least one insultator is completely black (fouled).

Check your fuses and relays especially if you swapped the OEM ECU back in and it won't fire. Sounds like a bad fuel pump relay to me...or even a failed pump.

When I get time this weekend I will take a stab at it. The fuel pump is still working and pressurizing the system so that is out. Plugs were replaced with everything else but I still need to pull them out and take a look.

What fuses would be worth checking? Other than making sure the injectors are firing I can't think of anything that would cause this type of failure.

you can see all your sensors with MS in the Megatune program go to "tuning tab" nd then real time display. on the MS led's do you have a lit led in the center and do you also have the outside leds flashing during crank? the center is showing warm up and the outside led's show spark output is being output from the MS. In the real time display you will also see if inj. is being output. its all there, if throttle voltage if bad . Let me know. Ill try and check this thread again as I get time between work.

Check all your fuses and you're only out 2 minutes.

If you're worried about fueling you might as well change the fuel filter which can cause driveability problems.

TPS can be checked very quickly if the car will run. Twist, turn, tap on the housing . . . running quality should not change. If you can monitor the signal, it should be a smooth change, no jumps/dead spots as the throttle is actuated.

Another thing I forgot to mention is the coil packs. Its possible something was hosed in the MS system and it blew a pack or two. It may produce enough juice to fire the timing light but not enough to fire the plugs. You can check it by testing each wire with a good plug in it and crank the engine. Ground the plug to a metal part and watch for the spark. Unplug your injectors or you'll flood the engine.

03tibe85, good thinking. if your dwell is too high you could have burnt up a vb921 transistor and or coil pack as 03tibe85 stated.
