Less overlap would be better if you want more low end torque and less top end torque.
I believe if he were to swap back to a 1.8 cam he would definately lose some power, but that is only my opinion and I have no seat experience with the mentioned changes on a turbo car so...
As far as the cam timing goes, anyone that could answer my above questions??
Thanks so much.

I'll go to the dyno next wednesday 30th. I have 264 intake cam and stock exhaust cam. With no cam timing modifications i have a lot of overlap (higher emissions) and less vacuum but the car still runs good. I'm thinking of retarding just the intake cam... Also i'll take the 1.8 intake cam in case i need to swap it.

BUMP:
did you manage to get down to the dyno? has it shown any gains?
relating to an above post regarding overlap: i thought the 1.8 cam was the same duration as the 2.0l? just different lift?.

I had an issue with my cluth so couldn't visit the dyno yet... I swapped to the stock cam again because the 264 gives a lot of overlap on a F/I setup good for high rpm's... The cam works but i'd say it performs better on a N/A engine... Right now that 264 cam is on a N/A engine waiting for more parts...

if you use larger cams on a turbo motor and especially if those cams were grinded for a NA engine you need to dial them in
you want to run the intake cam advanced and the exhaust cam retarded
this will also make them run smoother
in my car my crower's 264 idle almost like stock
i did a car with a set of CatCams, dialed them for turbo use and the idle is also smooth
tdonnel, wich cams do you have in it?

what overlap are you running with those 264's?
iv just got the Catcam 250's and they run 30deg overlap. - with stock being 18deg as i have read above ?
