Well, any ideas on flow rates with a 57 trim compressor and .58 a/r on the turbine?

Spool time and needed boost?

Any guesses as to what the trim of the turbine is?

Thanks.

Thanks Tim,

I just need to know if this is going to be too big for my 2.0. I think it is as I want this to be streetable and last a decent amount of time before needing a rebuild. If it isn't going to spool until 5000 rpm I will sell it and get something with a T3 turbine housing.

Thanks for any additional help and more information.

I found a link to possibly my turbo? At least without the flashy turbonetics ingraved, lol:

http://www.japaneseperformanceparts.com/tu...04b-p-4001.html

I think I might be okay as long as I run 15-20 psi. Do you know the flow rate of a beta 2.0 @ 6000 and 7000 rpm at those respective boost levels? And possibly the flow rate of my turbo (kind of hard to find out without knowing the compressor a/r and turbine trim huh? The guy I purchased this from said turbonetics told him it was good to 500 flywheel horsepower, so it might be doable, lol.

More links to my possible mystery turbo:

this thing will lag for sure on a street driven car
the compressor side is decent and can make nice power
but your turbine side is kinda big and will produce lag

As long as it spools at or a bit before 4-4500 rpm I don't really mind the lag, it would make it more fun to get a massive increase in power like that you know?

Lag is a sacrifce I will have to make if I want these kind of numbers.

it might lag a bit more then that
what do you want to do with the car?
and what kind of power are you looking for?
want to build a tough bottom end or run on the stock parts?

Damn, so you are saying it wont spool until 5k? F-that, no way I want it in that case.

I already have 82.5mm wiseco's with coated skirts. I still need to get the pauter rods, arp main and head studs/washers/nuts, and a 2.0 block to get the machining and engine work started. So yes, I plan on having a fully built/balanced engine to run my turbo setup.

That should hold to 25-30psi right? The pistons are 8.8:1, and I figure with the head already being shaved .007" and the block getting decked, maybe 8.9:1

I want to keep it street legal, lol. Go through emissions next year right before I do it so I can have it for 2 years with no problems. Here in MD you only get the car inspected when you buy it, so as long as your engine runs clean you have no problems.

Would like to have it as a weekend car instead of a daily driver, just to have fun with you know.

I think I would definately be better of with a garrett GT28RS, I just jumped on this because I got it for less than half price with only a few hours on it so I can sell it for as much or more than I paid for it.

I am looking for 400whp, would settle for 350. Something to get me into the 11's.

i would go more toward a t3/t4 not a plain t4 like you got
worst case ask a local turbo shop mow much they would charge you to convert it to a t3 t4
the "hard parts" to get are usually the compressor housing and wheel wich you already have now
of you want the bets of both world (less lag big power) i'd go with a gt3076r

Yeah, I think I am going to try to sell this bad boy and get something a little smaller, definately something with a T3 compressor housing.

Thanks for the help.

BTW: Tim if you find more info please let me know, thanks.

How much would it cost to get the turbine housing of this turbo replaced with a t3 .63 a/r housing?

Wouldn't they have to replace the turbine wheel as well?

Thanks.
