I highly doubt it man.

If it would be so different, why hasn't it been done?

because most of the people with small displacement vehicles use TCs. it's a lot easier to tune, and more available to everyone!

So why SC then?

When you can get a TC that will spool low and give you way better power than a SC?

once I wanted to go the supercharger route too... but I have spent too much time and money trying to make my engine free revving to tie it to the supercharger... they are correct, a S/c will be a parasite on power.. even as it makes more than it uses.. you will feel it when you try and rev...

A turbo also sucks some power.. most in the form of backpressure.. remember.. NOTHING is free... it just sucks less than a tenth of that of the S/C. Go with a nice quick spooling t25.. it may run out of breath by the time you head redline.. but it will STILL be making power there... and it's "lag" time will be near to none

^^^ like odessit said ...

just get a smaller turbo....with the right setup you can have almost no lag, not to mention you could also save money cuz you probly wouldnt need a whole lot of major work....

I would prefer a t28. Bigger than the 25, but smaller than the 3. More power than the smaller turbo and less lag than the larger.. 6 to 10 pounds of boost should do you VERY well.

As back to the topic of S/C. If you were to build a custom setup.. with the blower pushing through an IC and then to the engine, I am sure you could get more than 200hp from it.. but the engine compartment of the TIB does not really allow the blower to be mounted on the exhaust side of the engine.

OK.

I wouldn't say that my s/c robs that much power, depending on how you drive you can either be on or off boost. Off boost the car is quite quick anyway, then with a little extra press of the gas pedal the s/c starts to deliver and then you really fly.

I have probably spent what redz said. (all in GBP) £3k or whatever for the alpine kit, then lots of tuning with the unichip, a smaller pulley and water injection (about another 3 or 4k spead over a few years). Of course you have to remember that no one else has put any work into s/c'ing a 2.0l Hyundai so all the time I have been breaking new ground.

In addition I also have
F2 Evo cam (same as elantra 1.8)
25cc overbore
421 header
exhaust system
induction kit
lightened and balanced flywheel
bbtb

The alpine kit isn't designed to work with an i/c otherwise I would have done it years ago.

Last dyno read was 199.5

And yes I am a SHE! wink.gif
