APEX'I Turbo Kit for Tiburon???
Hey guys, i read a few days ago that Apexi is testing a turbo kit for our tibbies. It was in the March issue of Sport Compact Car in their 63 (or some #) new parts for '03 article or something. It seems the V6's vunerability is making way into the minds of tuners as this small article noted that Apexi realized how weak the V6 is and decided to support the BETA motor for what they admitted was a very strong platform. cool eh? It's susposet to be out in a couple of months as stated in the article if i remember correctly. Exciting!!!
I guess its cool.
I mean, APEXI has known about the possibility of the BETA for years.
I dont know if the mentality is different betweena 2g owner and a 1g owner. But I am kinda upset all these guys are jumping on the bandwagon now.
They would not help us when we wanted it. And now that half the tuners have their projects. Or are making payments on Alpine and CNK. You get the big names rollin up.
I almost wanan buy an alpine kit to spiteful. even if went unnoticed. Simply because.
Were was Apexi when Alpine was the only one?
Forget this domestic ****. I would support KDM and go with HP store or Kspec.
that my opinion anyway

You have only one to blame for the lack of attention to the 1st and 2nd gen tibs - Hyundai. If hyundai had hyped the 2nd gen tib the way its hypin the 3rd, all of this stuff would have come out 2 years ago, and would have supported the first gen as well. But for now (and ever) you might as well call us history.
NONE of these companies would be in this, if HYUNDAI would not have sent out 20 completely free 2003 to work on... so yes I too blame Hyundai for the lack of support, they've been receiving emails from many here for years prior to the 2003, and always turned their backs on us... NOW imagine how stupid they feel that a V6 engine is crap and that little BETA beats the **** out of them... and companies like APEXI agree to it... like I said over at NT.com, I think it's a slap to HYUNDAI that Apexi came out and said the truth...
This is why I'm still waiting and waiting for the numbers from the MODERN IMAGE YELLOW TIB and from all the running around they've being doing avoiding the comments, it seems to me that it's clear that the turbo system in that CAR is show only which means it's prolly set at like 2 psi...

yeah, i blame hyundai. there was like one commercial for gen2 tibs, and, uh, none for the gen1. and how many magazine ads did you see for gen1,2 tibs? now they play into the american market of "bigger is better" and throw a weak v6 in the tib...BETAs kick a$$.
There was a commercial for the 1st gen. I remember seeing it debut at the Super Bowl that year. I barely remember it though. It had something to do with a boat with a shark chasing it. It didn't show the car though.
I blame Hyundai for not pushing the Tiburon.... but APEXi has NO excuse. They have known about the Beta engine and knew that the Korean branch of APEXi (CAREX) was marketing and selling kits.
APEXi Japan send several tuners and mechanics to Seoul to design exhaust systems for the Tiburon years ago and they constantly travel back and forth working on other products of joint Korean - Japanese interests.
All they had to do was take a little time out and put forth some effort to making a kit.... they just didn't think it was profitable enough.

Well in this case since I own an 03 Tibby and basically that means since all these companies know about the problems with the 2.7 it would be a waste of money to buy either a s/c or a turbo because both of them would have to be low boost. Otherwise the bottom of my freikin engine falls apart. This sucks.
Yes, this is true. Thanks Cheuk
IF HYUNDAI WAS SMART. And Wanted that image. They would PAID Apexi to do the research and developement and help them with anything they need.
Also, I saw only 2 ever commercials for the 2g tiburon. Course I only seen 1 for the new tib so far.
I mean, hell. Think all they coulda did with marketing the 1g/2g as a rally car. And offered special editions or other ****.
