Anything by Apexi will, like products from Blitz, HDK & all the Jap aftermarket manufacturers, cost far too much for Tuners of budget vehicles like Hyundais to comfortably afford!.
Hell!...if your`re running a Mercedes you can probably afford AMG upgrades!, but my experience of Tokyo`s entrepreneurs leads me to believe that they export to their Distributors at their home retail prices, leaving the importers to add yet another(huge)retail margin before selling-on to the likes of you & me!.
Let`s support people like Chris at CNK who actually understand their Customers....remember his $50.00 Customs ploy....& ask ourselves how much free advice/help we get from the `big boys`!.

(Skierd : you made yourself look like a Redneck....I think an apology is required, otherwise a lot of people who held you in high esteem will blame you for the loss of Chris`s input to our Community!).

Returning to the thread, hopefully Hyundai will respond to the question-mark over the 2.7 V6 & give, what is a superb car, the powerplant it deserves....anything less than a rock-solid lump with 280bhp.(stock) is failure!!.

However, just look at the potential of the Beta engine!....there is absolutely no reason why anyone should doubt what can be achieved here in terms of performance with reliability....."only 4 cylinders & 2 litres", some say.
It doesn`t seem to worry the owners of Imprezza`s & Mitsu. Evo`s one iota!.

I don`t know how it can be done....(some of you may have ideas,in which case please communicate them to Hyundai)....but there is an inherant culture of caution-at-all-costs in the Company which is holding us all back.
One of the first examples of this is evident in the handbook of my car ( 1995 Scoupe Turbo SE )......Standard warranty = 3years .....(Turbo version = 1 year). C`mon Guys! it`s running now ,better than ever, with the original Garrett T15 turbocharger, all unchanged engine internals & running gear + loads of my mods, which must strain it even further!
The standard U.K. Warranty has just been raised to 5 years, unlimited mileage, BUT, Hyundai PLEASE actually BELIEVE in your product!!!.

N.B. The Hyundai Motor Company was actually set up & organised by an ex-senior executive of the, now defunct, British Motor Company....so it`s a miracle they`re still trading!.
Mind you, Volkswagen aren`t doing too badly either, that business was resurrected by a British Army Brigadier, who had been ordered to close it down to prevent damage to our export trade, during the occupation of West Germany!....little history lesson there Yanks!!!.

Cheers, Nick. smile.gif

The new issue of Import Tuner's cover car and feature is a 2003 4 cyl Red Tiburon from Apex'i. Has a SR widebody kit and some other goodies from SR. It should be on newstands by next week(I got mine in the mail last Monday).
