Alpine Turbo and Supercharger Photos
Erik I sent you some pics. did you get them? Installation is not that complex but you need a experience mechanic unless you have enough knowledge. It can be installed in a few days. I had problems with the parts to connect it to the original filtering box so I recommend a conic filter instead.
As far as the Elantra question, the kit is for a 2. L engine and not 1.8 liter. Look at my post earlier. Contact Gavin O´Leary and check if they have a kit for it.

Hi Guy's,
I think we have covered this topic many a time but this is what feedback I had from Alpine when I was looking into the systems they have available.
Chris,
Thank you for your reply. THe kit comes complete with the stainless steel
spacer and the necessary components required to carry out the conversion.
The only item not supplied is the exhaust system.
We have sold kits to Australia, Central America and Korea plus we fit kits
to vehicles in South Africa.
Our own development vehicle has been turbocharged for 3 years and has never
missed a beat.
Regards,
GAVIN

I just sent Gavin an email last night asking if the system is compatible with MAFS, if it is I'm sending my cash asap! Also, Mario, did you upgrade your pistons/sleeves or any other extensive block work? Just curious if you can run 13-14 lbs safely without any engine work. Also, can you send me the pics too? thanks smile.gif

No modifications. I know tibies running 16 lbs, but i tried to get info from Gavin about what the safe max was and did not answer. To go over 10lbs you need a valve to fool the wastegate, HKS makes a simple one. There is also a much more complex one. I will send you the pics. too.

I have heard it is possible but I don´t think it makes too much sense? If you want to take your engine to the limit increase boost. You may want to change pistons and rods and may want water injection or meth injection to prevent predetonation at very high boosts. Our driving here is much more tarmac rallye type rather than 1/4 mile straight and flat terrain so NOS is not attractive to me. I will try to find out and if I find anything I will let you know.
The complete turbo kit with intercooler is $1,900 u.s. plus ~$275 for shipping here.
They also have a supercharger available for $1,900 as well.
The website is http://www.topgear.co.za/Alpine-Developmen...ents/index.html and the email address is alpturbo@iafrica.com . When emailing, direct your inquiries to Gavin O'Leary, he's a cool guy.
