Default Alpine Turbo

Hey, out of the people I've read that have the Alpine turbo kit, they have said that they were content (except one guy who's having a lot of trouble with his). Anyway I was wondering how it was as far as lag, boost, completion, etc.? Like, how much money am I going to have to put into it AFTER I have bought it? Do you think I should just wait for the Ballistics TurboKit to become more mainstream?

The alpine turbo kit I have reaches 9psi at 2500 RPM. There is no lag. No worries there.

Expect to spend $500 to get the Uni-Chip retuned, as alpine does a horrible job of tuning it.

Also expect to spend some $$$ on an upgraded clutch, and some gauges so you can keep an eye on various important engine sensors (A/F, Fuel Pressure, Boost, Oil Temp, Oil pressure, etc..etc)

Expect somewhere between 165 and 225 HP to the wheels at between 9 and 11 PSI.

The ballastics kit is still evolving, so I'm not sure what the current specs are.

I'll wait and see what the first USA kit does, and not comment until that time.

Really? I thought that they were distributing it to some people, that's alright though, I want to develop a rapport with my dealership over a long period of time so that I can sweet talk em into not voiding my warranty over some things I'm planning on doin!

It is my understanding that the first ballistics kit as NOT hit US shores yet. If anyone knows of anything different, please feel free to correct me. Hopefully they will ship soon, but I have not heard any ETA date.
