i dare say that $400 is an extremely good price-... but i don't see it happeneing.

for 6 buyers $400 wouldn't even cover the tooling for a bad casting, much less then ordering solid billet aluminum and machineing it to spec.

good luck.

agree with everyone is not 'faithful' of this going anywhere.

mainly agree with 01steve about the tooling/casting costs would hardly be covered for this.

but the BIGGEST thing that will end up killing this, even if it GOT serious... is people ACTUALLY putting up the money.

its easy to say 'o hell yes, i'd be in for one of those if they were available' but people have actually had trouble selling REAL air rams for 450-550$ in the past couple of years. when it comes time for 6 people to be dedicated to pay 400-500$ is where this will fail for sure, if it gets that far.

its much cheaper to get comparable results doing a port and polish on the stock manifold for 1/4-1/2 the price of these 'air ram' copies..

then taking in the factor that you can spend 400$ and get headers, port/polish stock IM, CAI, and a 1.8L cam and surpass the effects of the 'air ram' alone..

the guys that would benefit most from one of these, would be the turbo guys, and even the guys going turbo these days are going cheaper routes (used turbos, complete used kits, etc)

would be nice to see something like the air ram available again, but i see a VERY VERY small chance of anything coming from this for the community.

I had the Airram, ceramic coated none the less, and replaced it with a bored OEM IM. The results were the same, if not better afterwards. The airram is pretty, and has gains for sure, but the OEM IM is meaty and has a lot of work that can be done to it. Your machinist friend could port those much easier, and for MUCH cheaper. I can get him pics of how mine was done if you want.
