Aftermarket Crank?
Hmm... pistons come to mind... course when your pushing 200whp (which means turbo) with 10.3:1 compression the pistons are going to be a weak spot. So techinically its not that they are weak, but they aren't the best design for boost.
The Tib takes well to boost from what I've seen, at least engine internal wise. Some cars can barely take 6PSI (350Z, Integra Type R come to mind...) before everything goes to hell. The only real weak parts of the Tib is the fuel system and the transmission... if we could overcome the darned ECU then the Tib would be the best I-4 in America for tuning that comes unboosted from the factory.

For the $$$, I would skip the knife edge work and install a windage tray instead.
Knife edging works great on big ass V8 cranks at high RPM, but we've got half the length and half the counterweights. It just doesn't show the gains that big V8's get.
Windage trays have shown gains in the 4G63 community...

I should have moved this from day one.. going to Extreme performance...
And yes, Windage trays are the cheapest and best way to go for less than a full on track car. Anybody know if we can mod a mitsu tray to our engines?

From what I see is it's a one way screen that goes over your oilpan and doesn't interfear with the crank. It allows oil to come thru from the crank area but not back up to slow the crank down. Very very good idea... So basicly we need one that is the same size or a bit bigger than our oil pan and to get it tack welded in place right?
