do you realize the price of an aftermarket crank? were talking thousands, not hundreds. and thats for a premade piece, not a custom one

Kspec can get them if they are still made in Korea. Tigerlilly used to make one.

The stock crank is plenty strong. No worries there.

Stick with stock and remove the excess counter weight as needed when ballancing.

The only problem with the stock crank is that i doubt it would be able to handle the kind of hp it would be making off of 20-27psi with the tuning being as close to the edge as possible.

Like Random said, stick with the stock one. You'd run into hundreds of other problems in the internals of the engine before you blew a properly balanced crankshaft...

yeah, that's definately one of the strongest internals

i can't imagine an aftermarket shaft would be that much lighter anyway, so if the stock crank can handle that kind of throw... i'd run with it too

The stock crank/block will handle 600+ WHP. If I remember right, the highest dyno out of Korea for a Beta was 702 WHP. That was with the stock crank, and the entire assembly balanced. Even the stock rods have been proven over 400 whp. They simply replace them when going over that point because of reliability.

Damn, I wish I still had Cheuk's email addy...

You'll run into tranny/diff/axle problems long before your block or crank give out.
