When you turbo a 5 speed you pretty much just have to put in a better clutch but what can you do to an auto tranny when you go turbo? From what I hear and have read, our auto trannies are pretty weak and break easily when alot of power is added to them. I dont feel like doing a swap so what can I do to help make the auto stronger.

I have blown through 4 rebuilds on stock power with lightly spirited driving.

Save the headache, do the swap.

Level 10 may still be willing to talk to you, but they were the only company in the USA I ever heard of even trying to care about Hyundai automatics and that was a while back.

Depends on the budget, and how far you want to go. It can be as simple as a torque convertor, it can be as complex as addressing heat-related issues with an independent pump, reservior and a dedicated cooler because the drive and driven plates and the band were changed to run higher pressures with a re-calibrated valve body. Here is the question that will pretty much answer everything you want to know: how will the car be driven, and how long does it need to do what you want it to do?
